Matthew Atkin is a senior associate for workplace management at AWA. He is an architectural engineering graduate with considerable experience in the construction, delivery, organisational change and ongoing management of workplace environments.

Initially working within the construction industry, Matthew switched to FM operations for a WPP company, followed by roles with Mercury Asset Management, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America. While at Merrill Lynch, Matthew was responsible for all workplace management and workplace location delivery across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Following the global financial crisis of 2008, Matthew moved for eight years to Hong Kong with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Here he had responsibility for all office planning, projects, engineering maintenance and facilities management across Asia. This included several substantial office relocations with the implementation of operational change management programmes in Hong Kong, Sydney and Mumbai.

At AWA Matthew has worked on major change programmes with the leading global advertising, marketing and corporate communications company and has worked with one of the world’s top law firms in London, Warsaw and Dubai. He has also worked with a major UK home improvements retailer and one of the country’s leading healthcare specialists.

Matthew is currently based in the UK, but he has permanent resident status in Hong Kong.
